We absolutely loved our stay at the Carlton Arms. If you’re looking for a polished, cookie-cutter hotel with all the usual amenities, this probably isn’t your place—but if you want somewhere unique, full of character, affordable, and genuinely memorable, it’s fantastic. The location was excellent. We were able to wa…

The hall bathrooms definitely leave the hallways smelling a little like the city streets at times, but hey, it's New York.

  • Our stay was magical. The staff were very friendly, the room was perfect, the beds were wonderful.

It was definitely the NYC experience we wanted. All the murals on every wall and the cute knick-knacks were wonderful. Also the complementary coffee was the cherry on top! The room was very spacious and was the exact size for my family.

I didn't like that it didn't have a iron. (But I guess I could ask the front for one if I really needed one. Which I didn't). I also didn't like that there was very little plugs. We had to take turns to charge our phones & other electronics.

  • The spirit of NYC is kept alive and well at this wild, yet cozy hotel!

The space was so fun and unique and it was truly special! It was in an incredible location and so affordable. The mattress was exceptionally comfortable. The staff was warm and great at communicating and being available. The space is really relaxed, and we felt like if we needed anything, we would be met with inviting…

The bathroom could have been a little bit cleaner, and I wish there was a mirror in the room or bathroom, but that didn’t take away from the overall experience.

    Only the location.

It's a quirky sort of place, and will not suit all travellers. Bathroom facilities are basic but do work. No lift means lugging suitcases up fairly steep stairs. Room aircon is very noisy, I turned it off, but the large outside units start up at 5am, not great. I was travelling alone, if my wife was with me, we would…

  • Budget, a bit weird, but clean.

Great location. Rooms and art is a bit creepy, some energy harvesting was going on on the Egyptian floor. Ah well. Protected my space.. wifi didn't work on the 4th floor. They politely moved me to the 1rst floor with a bathroom, that was nice. Kind and welcoming staff.

    Egyptian floor was creepy
